ORTHOGRAPHIC DRAWING

ORTHOGRAPHIC DRAWING OF LAMP
ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTING AND PERSPECTIVE DRAWING | WSU

This was part of my first assignments in my Architectural Drafting and Perspective Drawing class from my first semester at WSU. I learned about line weight along with Architectural Lettering. One thing I took away from this course was that line weight, or the thickness of a line in orthographic drawings is an important tool. It conveys information about elements in the orthographic drawing.

Heavier or darker lines indicate greater importance.

Line weight can help show depth and form.

Line weight can add clarity to dense drawings.

Varying line weights can make a drawing more professional.
